When you discover that sinus infections often keep on attacking you, then, most likely you may be suffering from a health condition known as recurring sinus infection. This condition allows you to be subjected to sinus health problems that keep on surfacing all the time. Different reasons are usually responsible for this and having one of them is enough for you to be subjected to the problem.

The presence of defective structures in the respiratory tract is one reason why a recurring sinus infection may take place. Swollen adenoids, polyps present in the nasal air pathways, tumors and clefts are some of the abnormalities that may be found in the respiratory tract and be responsible for this condition. When these abnormalities occur, they tend to obstruct air from reaching the sinuses. This action allows bacteria to thrive in the sinus cavities and in the process attack and colonize the cells of the sinus surfaces. When this takes place, the sinuses become inflamed and ultimately, a sinus infection occurs.Taking of medicines has little effect if any on these defects. What they usually do is to minimize the problems that these abnormalities bring with them for some time and once their effect is over, the problems arise again hence the sinus infection always finding its way back to you. For this problem to be solved once and for all, doctors may recommend surgery so that the structures can be removed from the respiratory tract or just be corrected to become normal again.

Another reason why a recurring sinus infection may take place is if you do not take your sinus medication according to the doctor’s instructions or you do not finish the whole dosage as prescribed. When this occurs, instead of the medicine treating the infection, they in turn boost the resistance levels of the bacteria. Therefore, you will always be realizing that you are getting better and right before you completely get healed, the infection bounces back only this time it will come with more severe symptoms. Therefore, to prevent this from occurring, always follow the doctor’s prescription and try to complete the dosage every time you take medication for your sinus health problems.

Faulty immune systems is also another reason enough to cause a recurring sinus infection. Whenever a person’s immunity is low, it is in no position to fight off infections as required by the body. For this reason, different types of sinus infections most of them being allergy sinus infections are able to attack the body as often as they can since there are no enough white blood cells and antibodies to fight them in the body. To avoid this situation from ever being experienced, always eat a lot of fruits and vegetables so that you can supply the immune system with sufficient vitamins that can be used to manufacture required white blood cells together with needed antibodies that are used to fight and clear the infection once and for all.
