What are the odds of having complications from sinus infections if you don’t go to the doctor for them?

I ask because I get acute sinusitis about 3 or 4 times a year from either colds or allergies. I don’t want to take antibiotics too much, because it causes resistance. I also don’t want the sinus infections to cause a complication like abscesses or meningitis, though.

Something is causing the sinusitis, a reputable ENT doctor should be able to help you. IT WILL TAKE MORE THAN A COUPLE OF VISITS.
You should follow up on this because after repeated episodes the inside of the nose will form polyps. Now most times polyps in the nose will go away on their own after cold or infection is resolved. When they do not (and some don’t) they can and will turn cancerous over a period of time.
Rule is if a polyp has not resolved two weeks after infection, cold, allergies have cleared, go to ENT for treatment.
Even small children get them. You do not notice them. You will just FEEL stuffy without drainage.
Good luck.
